Professor Yakov S. Shifrin was Chairman. The NAA, the National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI)” and the East Ukraine AP/MTT/EDAES Chapter were the organizers of the conference. The Chair and Vice Chair of the Organizing Committee were Prof. Y.Yakimenko and Prof. M. Yurchenko. The Chair of the Technical Program Committee was Prof. Y. Shifrin, and the Vice-Chair was Prof. F. Dubrovka. The members of the scientific committee were from different government, university, and industrial organizations of Ukraine, Russia, Poland, and France. Some opening remarks were devoted to the centenary of KPI. Scientists from 10 countries (Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, USA, Germany, Poland, Finland, Mexico, Czech Republic, and Spain) took part in the activities of the conference. They were also offered diverse cultural program. Specially organized tours around Kyiv, visit to the National Opera and Ballet Theater, and sightseeing onboard a specially chartered boat on the Dnipro River.
